Hi, I'm Connie Campbell and I am the Minister to Families with Children at First Baptist Church Chattanooga. That means I get to work, play, laugh, and pray with children from birth through 5th grade and their families. I'll tell you a little bit about me. I like to read, watch movies, act in plays, sing, and go for walks. But my favorite thing of all is to be with children.

When you look at my picture you will see animals painted on the wall behind me. This was taken in our Art Ark room, one of the rooms in our Rotational Sunday School program for children in grades K-5th.

The children are divided into groups by age and grade; each week they rotate to a different room where they experience a Bible story in many different ways. In our B.C. to P.C. room they might go on a computer adventure, work on a special mission's project or do a science experiment.

In the Art Ark they might cook up a recipe using ingredients found in scripture or learn to write Hebrew letters on a clay tablet like Jesus might have done when he was a child. In the Holyword Theatre they might see a video of the fantastic life of Elijah the prophet or they might act out the story of the Good Samaritan.

In the Temple of Praise room they might play a game to learn the books of the Bible, they might make a bank for the money they are going to spend, save and give, or they might make up a song of faith like David the shepherd boy. There are lots of things to learn and play and do during Sunday school.

Children’s Ministry Schedule

Crossings Station

Each Sunday children in grades K-5th travel with their age groups to a different room to experience a Bible story in a different way! Our units of study last from 4-8 weeks and in each unit the children might have experiences with drama, storytelling, games, science, computers, mission projects, video, art, cooking and more!  Come and catch the excitement as we learn together!

Creation Station

Each Sunday children from birth—PreK are in Sunday school with their age groups in different rooms that represent the different parts of creation. Our preschoolers are greeted warmly by their teachers and friends and from the youngest to the oldest they learn that they are loved and cared for just as God loves and cares for them. They are an important part of God’s creation and of our church!

Parent's Night Out

Parent's Night Out is the first Friday of every month during the school year (except April). Parents Night Out (PNO) is from 6:00 - 9:30 pm and the cost is $5 per child. Families with three or more children have a maximum cost of $12. Families must provide dinner for their child - either before PNO or you may bring a snack supper.

The children are divided by ages and are cared for by the childcare staff of FBC Chattanooga. Children will have playtime in classrooms, in the gym and/or on the playground. Activities may include arts and crafts, games and movie time. An evening snack will be provided.

Reservations must be made by the Wednesday before PNO. Reservations may be made by calling the church office at 423-265-2257.
